A New Battle Facility: The Battle Agency!

The Battle Agency is a new facility where you can enjoy battling by easily renting powerful Pokémon.

When you don your sunglasses and become an “agent” at this facility, you can take part in Single Battles using rental Pokémon. You'll have three such Pokémon to command as you try to defeat the three Pokémon in your opponent's team. Try to win your way to being the best of all the agents!

The Pokémon you can rent for these battles will increase as you mingle with other players around you or over the internet. Connect with formidable players, and you’ll be able to rent powerful Pokémon. So communicate with lots of other players, choose the Pokémon you like best from those available to rent, and aim to become the top agent!

Collect BP and Learn New Moves!

In Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon, you can teach your Pokémon moves in exchange for Battle Points—moves they would not be able to learn by leveling up or through any TM. There are places where your Pokémon can learn these moves on each island.

You can earn BP by winning battles in the Alola region’s battle facilities, such as the Battle Royal Dome and the Battle Tree, or by using Mantine Surf from various beaches.

In addition to teaching moves to the Pokémon that travel with you on your journey, you can also teach them to the Legendary Pokémon you’ve caught by passing through an Ultra Wormhole. Come up with your own favorite combination of Pokémon and moves to stand out from the crowd!

Collect Totem Stickers!

Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon introduce Totem Stickers for you to collect all around Alola. Totem Stickers glitter and shine in the field.

If you collect these Totem Stickers, you’ll be able to get a huge totem-like Pokémon for your team, based on how many stickers you’ve collected. It’ll surely shock your opponents to see you using these oversized totem-like Pokémon in battle!

The totem-like Pokémon that you can get as allies can differ based on whether you’re playing Pokémon Ultra Sun or Pokémon Ultra Moon.
For example, you can get Lurantis as an ally in Pokémon Ultra Sun or Salazzle in Pokémon Ultra Moon.Search every corner of the Alola region and collect masses of Totem Stickers!

Ride the Waves with Mantine Surf!

In Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon, you’ll be able to have fun with Mantine Surf, a sport that lets you do some surfing while riding on Mantine’s back. Mantine Surf isn’t just a way to get between islands—it’s also a sport where you compete for the highest score by pulling off different cool moves! Try to become a top-notch Mantine Surfer by riding Mantine like a pro!

Dash Around Alola with Ride Pokémon

Once you get the Ride Pager item, you’ll be able to go on Ride Pokémon and reach places you couldn’t get to before. As you progress through your adventure, you’ll meet and then gain access to various Ride Pokémon. Dash through the world of Alola with the help of Pokémon!

New Z-Moves!

In Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, the main character wears a Z-Ring in order to use Z-Moves. In Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon, the main character will put on a Z-Power Ring, which can use even more varieties of Z-Moves than the Z-Ring! And the games also feature new Z-Moves for certain Pokémon!

What's a Z-Move?

Z-Moves are moves of tremendous power—so powerful that they can only be used once per battle. When a Trainer and their Pokémon combine the force of their wills, the full strength of their effort bursts forth in an epic Z-Move! All Pokémon can use Z-Moves. To use a Z-Move, you must have two key items: a Z-Power Ring and a Z-Crystal.

New Z-Moves for Solgaleo and Lunala

In Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon, new exclusive Z-Moves make their debut for Solgaleo and Lunala—Searing Sunraze Smash and Menacing Moonraze Maelstrom.

There is one other Pokémon that can learn Sunsteel Strike and Moongeist Beam, the moves needed to unleash these extremely powerful Z-Moves—Necrozma.

That’s right—a Necrozma that knows Sunsteel Strike or Moongeist Beam will be able to unleash Searing Sunraze Smash or Menacing Moonraze Maelstrom.

It seems there is even greater power still lurking within Necrozma, as well. Just how much power lies hidden within it?

Searing Sunraze Smash Z-Move

Searing Sunraze Smash is a new Steel-type Z-Move that can be used if you have a Solgaleo that knows Sunsteel Strike hold the exclusive Z-Crystal Solganium Z. This attack damages a target while ignoring any effects of the target’s Ability. A Searing Sunraze Smash from Solgaleo will be extremely powerful!

Menacing Moonraze Maelstrom Z-Move

Menacing Moonraze Maelstrom is a new Ghost-type Z-Move that can be used if you have a Lunala that knows Moongeist Beam hold the exclusive Z-Crystal Lunalium Z. This attack also damages a target while ignoring any effects of the target’s Ability. The Menacing Moonraze Maelstrom that Lunala unleashes boasts tremendous power!

Mimikyu’s Exclusive Z-Move

Mimikyu's exclusive Z-Move is called Let's Snuggle Forever! Mimikyu will be able to use this Fairy-type Z-Move if it knows the move Play Rough and is given a piece of the exclusive Z-Crystal Mimikium Z to hold.

Up until now, Mimikyu’s Play Rough could be powered up into the Z-Move Twinkle Tackle if Mimikyu was holding a piece of Fairium Z. Twinkle Tackle was a powerful Z-Move in its own right. But the Let’s Snuggle Forever Z-Move that can be unleashed in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon, thanks to the addition of the new Mimikium Z, is a hugely powerful move that outshines even Twinkle Tackle. Don’t let its cute appearance fool you!

When Mimikyu’s wishes are in sync with its Trainer’s, it comes up behind its target, enveloping it in the cloth that it wears. Then it uses its full power to show its opponent a little “tough love.”

Have Mimikyu hold a piece of Mimikium Z and use this new exclusive Z-Move to show your rivals that you’re on a different level!

More Fun with the Z-Power Ring

TOMY will be releasing their Pokémon Z-Power Ring around the world with the launch of Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon.
If you put on a Z-Power Ring, your battles and adventures in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon can become even more fun!

A Powered-Up Rotom Dex!

The Rotom Dex is a special item. It’s a Pokédex—a tool that records information about the Pokémon that you find and catch during your adventures—but with a Rotom inside! (Rotom is a Pokémon that is able to enter various electronic appliances.)

You’ll grow closer to Rotom the more you communicate with it during your adventures in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon.
As you do, it will come to help you even more in your journey. Rotom’s personality will change based on how you communicate with it. Perhaps the Rotom that joins you on your adventure will come to act a bit like you!

Deepen your bonds with Rotom as you travel around the world of Alola! It’ll make your adventure more lively and support you on your way!

Introducing Roto Loto

Roto Loto is a feature that lets you get items from your Rotom Dex as you get closer to Rotom. These special items that you get from your Rotom Dex’s Roto Loto come in different varieties, with some increasing the Exp. Points or prize money that you receive for a set period of time, while others might make it easier to catch Pokémon or have other effects. You may choose to use these Rotom Powers from your Bag whenever you'd like!

Use Z-Moves Again with Rotom’s Z-Power

If you become close enough with Rotom, it’ll use a special power for you called Rotom’s Z-Power! This lets you use a second Z-Move in battle, even though you’re normally limited to using only one Z-Move per battle!

Get Pokémon Info with the QR Scanner

Use the QR Scanner, one of the functions of the Rotom Dex, to scan in QR Code patterns that you find around you. The Pokémon corresponding to each QR Code will be displayed, and you’ll be able to see some of the information about that Pokémon.

Find Rare Pokémon with Island Scan!

When you scan in QR Code patterns with the QR Scanner, your Rotom Dex will store up points. Once you have 100 points, you’ll be able to use the Rotom Dex’s Island Scan function. Then you can use Island Scan to scan the island you’re currently on and find rare Pokémon you would normally never encounter in the Alola region.

Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon feature encounters with Pokémon that didn’t appear in Pokémon Sun or Pokémon Moon. You can meet Charmander, Grovyle, Greninja, and others.

Keep on finding more and more rare Pokémon with Island Scan!

Take Great Photos with the Alola Photo Club

Take all sorts of photos with the Pokémon you like at the brand-new Alola Photo Club! You choose the Pokémon to appear together with you in the photo, as well as your outfit, the background, camera angle, and more, so you can take the perfect picture. Get an amazing photo with your favorite Pokémon—and show it off to your friends!

After the shoot, you’ll be able to decorate your photo with frames and stickers. You’ll also be able to show other players the photos you took through communication features.

Taking a photo with a Pokémon also makes that Pokémon more affectionate toward you. As their affection toward you increases, your Pokémon will try to do even better than usual during battles. Strengthen your bonds with your Pokémon!

New Look for a New Adventure

The look of the main characters’ outfits has changed from the first trip through the Alola region—just in time for them to begin a new adventure! Choose the Pokémon that will become your partner, and set out on a journey through the world of Alola!
